First Listening Assignment
Listen to this piece in its entirety. It was composed by Neo-Classical composer Darius Milhaud. What kinds of musical influences do you hear? What instrument do you hear that you might not normally in a traditional orchestra? Total estimated time for this assignment (including listening to the music): 30 minutes
I hope you all enjoy this piece to some extent. It is a fairly easy listen compared to some of the things we will discuss this unit. When I listen to a piece like this I get very vivid imagery. Bonus!: What kind of imagery do you get while listening to this? Tell a brief (3-5 sentences) story about what you see/feel.
